Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar joins the awesome range of Artist series electric guitars for 2012. This stunning signature Jaguar will be available in one of two colours, Olympic White or Metallic KO, which comes based on Johnny's '66 faded Candy Apple Red Jag.
Marr is best known as the wonderkind behind Manchester quartet the Smiths, which sprung to huge critical acclaim during the late 80s. Marr has always brought his own instantly identifiable ringing, jangling genius to tracks, as he did in post-Smiths stints with The The, Electronic and the Pretenders to name but a few.
Now, with the Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar, you to can get involved with the look and tone of this pop icon that inspired so many musicians worldwide. Marr was originally attracted to the Jag by the way it sounded, offering a big, clear, ringing sound. His first experience playing one was with Modest Mouse in 2005. He had a riff kicking around that ended up becoming the song 'Dashboard', and it went from there. The Jag suited the way he'd evolved as a guitar player and at the same time made his old stuff sounded absolutely right on it. In his words, 'It sounds like I'm supposed to sound'.
